The Gatehouse is an Oxford-based charity providing food, shelter and company to Oxford's homeless and poorly housed population.
It is open to anyone who is 25 or over:
Mondays to Fridays from 5pm to 7pm and Sundays from 3pm to 5pm.
NOW BASED AT ST GILES PARISH ROOMS
On Friday 12th April a group of local firefighters walked non-stop, through the night, from Cambridge to Oxford, doing 82 miles in 30 hours. See here.
To support this great team raising money for the Gatehouse just go to their Justgiving page http://www.justgiving.com/teams/vm
"Suspended Coffee" is the latest way for Oxford coffee drinkers to support the Gatehouse. Thanks to Andrew and Claire Bowen, who run Java & Co coffee shops, anyone ordering a cup of coffee there is invited to pay for a second cup, with that money being donated to the Gatehouse. See here.
See also a scrapbook of photos from years gone by.
This project relies largely on voluntary workers and donations of money, food and other items. If you want to know more about helping us in any of these ways, please visit the how to help section. If you would like to donate to our regular running costs by credit or debit card, then you can use either our Just Giving web page here (also accepts PayPal) or the Charities Aid Foundation web page here (also accepts CAF Charity Card). General information about volunteering is given here.
As well as this official Gatehouse site we also have our own creative website constructed by and with our guests. You will find details of the Wednesday Art Group, creative writing, photography, the GateWay free paper and other activities.
