Location

Northgate Hall, 18 St Michael's Street, Oxford, OX1 2DU.

Walking

To reach Gatehouse from Carfax Tower, walk down Cornmarket Street (towards George St, Broad St and North Oxford); turn left into St Michael's Street (opposite St Michael's Church). Gatehouse is about 50 yards on the right hand side - the first dark blue door you will come across on St. Michael's Street and opposite the Oxford Union. There is a sign on the door and a bell to the left.

Walking from the railway station, come along Hythe Bridge Street (left towards town centre) and cross at the lights by the Paddyfields Restaurant. Continue along George Street, past the Old Fire Station on your left and turn right into New Inn Hall Street. Just a few yards along turn left into St Michael's Street and we're halfway down on your left.

By car

The only way to drive to the Gatehouse - if you have to - is to come in from the West, past the railway station and pass to the right of the Royal Oxford Hotel into Park End Street. Continue until the traffic lights (Nuffield College ahead of you) and take a sharp left turn into the bottom of George Street. Right into New Inn Hall Street (mind the pedestrians, who have right of way) and almost immediately left into St Michael's Street. There is nowhere to park (unless you have a disabled badge), so pull up on the yellow lines outside the Oxford Union and leave a note for the traffic warden in your windscreen. You will need to make a three-point turn and go back the way you came in.

NB. We have a special arrangement with one of the city churches which means that volunteers can be given permission to use their car park while working. Let us know if you need to make use of this.
