Welcome to The Gatehouse

The Gatehouse is an Oxford-based charity providing food, shelter and company to Oxford's homeless and poorly housed population.

It is open to anyone who is 25 or over:

Tuesdays to Saturdays from 5pm to 7pm and Sundays from 3pm to 5pm.

This site is intended for users of the service, those who volunteer or work at the Gatehouse, and anyone interested in finding out more about what we (and other agencies in Oxford) offer.

As well as this official Gatehouse site we also have our own creative website constructed by and with our guests. You will find details of the Wednesday Art Group, creative writing, photography, the GateWay free paper and other activities.

See also a scrapbook of photos from years gone by.

Oxford City Council

Many thanks to all who responded to our appeal for support as Oxford City Council considered dropping its grant to the Gatehouse. We now know that the grant is safe until March 2011 but the situation will be reviewed this Autumn.

This project relies largely on voluntary workers and donations of money, food and other items. If you want to know more about helping us in any of these ways, please visit the how to help section. If you would like to donate by credit or debit card, then you can use either our Just Giving web page here (also accepts PayPal) or the Charities Aid Foundation web page here (also accepts CAF Charity Card). General information about volunteering is given here.

Access to the section for volunteers and staff is password-restricted. If you need a password, please contact admin@oxfordgatehouse.org

Please contact webmaster@oxfordgatehouse.org to make any comments on the site, particularly if you have difficulties accessing any areas of the site.
