The Oxford Food Bank

Have you heard about the "Food Bank" in Oxford. This ensures that good food which would otherwise be disposed of as waste can go instead to people who need it. Supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries with unsold food at the end of the day all co-operate.

The Oxford Food Bank has now been in operation for well over a year, helping many local charities - including the Gatehouse which receives daily deliveries mainly of bread, cakes and fruit.
